Purpose of Intranet
Effective communication systems and the ability to rapidly exchange
documentation are essential to ensuring that information is available
within our organisation when it is needed.
To support this policy, Jesuit Social Services has established
an Intranet across all our computer systems. The Intranet is the
window through which all information about our organisation is
available and exchanged with other JSS staff.
The JSS Intranet is the first screen that appears when logging
onto JSS computer facilities.
The JSS Intranet provides information within three levels of
security. The highest security level is reserved for confidential
information and is accessible by members of the JSS Executive.
The second level is reserved for information which is not intended
for availability outside of JSS while the third level is unrestricted.
The JSS Intranet is the source of all reference information concerning
our organisation and will be updated centrally through the JSS
Webmaster at the Ignatius Centre.
All staff are encouraged to place information of interest to
other staff on the JSS Intranet. This includes both textual (content)
and photographic material.
All content must conform to the JSS Style Guide (see JSS Policies
and Procedures). The JSS Webmaster may change content and will
administer conformance with the JSS Style Guide. Content will
also be reviewed from a legal viewpoint to minimise the risk of
litigation.
